Bidwiz.co.uk Review

Bidwiz.co.uk summary

At the auction site Bidwiz.co.uk the winner is the person that places the highest unique bid. From looking through the website it seems the owners also run other sites as they claim this is their best one:

BiDWiZ is the latest and most attractive auction site we have created, offering you more than just a friendly auction site, but also offering products at unbeatable prices.
If this is correct and they do have other sites you would expect this site to be a masterpiece, unfortunately I don’t think it is.

The first thing that I couldn’t help notice when I went on to the site were the photos of the apparent winners, they do not look legit – they look like they’ve been stolen from a catalogue! This didn’t give me any faith in this site whatsoever.

BiDWiZ claim to have over 250,000 ‘happy’ members, so on this basis I decided to give them a go. After pulling my hair out listening to the annoying ticking of the stop watch that kept popping up on the site offering me half price bids my findings follow.

Bidwiz.co.uk review:

navigation/ease of use

Registration on BiDWiZ is pretty straight forward and not too time consuming. I wasn’t quite sure how the website worked as it is not clear on the home page. I clicked on the link to the ‘how it works’ section (once I’d found it) and I managed to figure it out from there. Put simply the person that has the highest unique bid wins the auction.

I’m afraid I am unable to explain how the bidding process works on this site as BiDWiZ don’t offer any free joining credit and I was reluctant to use my own money after seeing the winners photos!

fairness

In BiDWiZ’s ‘Service Treaty’ they assure members that they do not interfere with the auctions in any way. On each auction there is a ‘Bids Quota’ section, this states the number of bids required on the auction before it can end. It also informs you of how many bids have been placed and how many of those are unique.

On each auction there is a table showing you who the current winner is and who has a unique bid. This table can be a little confusing until you work out what it all means.

value for money

Bids cost from as little as £1 per bid for prizes like a PS3 to as much as £7 per bid for prizes as big as a car. I wasn’t impressed with the fact that I had to click on each auction individually to be able to view the bid price as this was quite time consuming waiting for the auction to load.

Best Auctions Sites verdict:

My overall view of this site is that despite having a great range of prizes it is rather annoying! The fact that there is a stop watch that pops up constantly blocking my view and making an awful noise teamed with the ‘winners’ photo’s is enough to make me never visit the site again. Take my advice and use ANY other unique bid auction site before joining BiDWiZ!

Ha ha I see what you mean about the winners photos! How did they think they’d get away with those?! Other than the photos the rest of the site seems ok, i’m going to watch what happens over the next few days on there and maybe think about having a go. I came on here hoping there’d be some reviews from actual winners. Will let you know what i think if i decide to join.

bidwiz is fantastic for a bit of fun, if and i mean if, you can stick to seeing it that way. The people that put loads of money in and don’t win get annoyed, i just put a little in when ive got some spare and dont expect to win. That way if i do win its a nice surprise!

Bidwiz.co.uk seems to be getting slated on recent forums/reviews etc but I can honestly say I haven’t had cause for concern when playing on their site. I haven’t won anything as yet but i know of someone who has and I don’t think they had any problems with receiving the prize.

After feeling let down by madbid (apparently they send out seconds/refurbished prizes) i tried the 2nd most well known site bidwiz… So far so good. Not had any reason to complain and am happy with the service they provide. Will let you know what happens when i win something.

review by Ben , October 19, 2010

I haven’t played on bidwiz myself for the fact that on most forum sites i join people only have bad things to say about bidwiz. It seems not many people receves there prizes they win and when they do the prizes are faulty, for a differnet country or are refurbished. I’ll will stick to the sites i know i can trust.

I’ve been now a member of Bidwiz over 2 years, during that time I have won a few auctions, although I must admit I had to do some chasing, but eventually I did receive my win. Although like any other sites, the losers tend to fault the site and the winners keep quiet hoping no other members join so they can satisfy themselves with the wins. The thing that sticks out at Bidwiz that no other site has, is the required amount of bids needed to close the auction. I sat on numerous auctions sites before and bided for hours and the auction continued and continued, some even for days. To be honest if you are easily influenced by what people say, I guess this site is not for you, however, if you are brave enough to try this site, you won’t be disappointed. The annoying clock and sound…hey switch your sound off. You can even win products without even depositing, so I don’t know why this site states that you don’t get any bonuses for joining. Reality, don’t let others brainwash you, try it and see what you think. I’m a happy bidder in Bidwiz!

I total agree with Steve, took ages to get my winning product but eventually got it. The concept of the game is simple, the times the auctions are closing can easily be figured. Strategy and a bit of thinking is all that is needed to win an auction. It’s the 2nd most popular auction site in the UK, and after playing in Bidwiz, I wouldn’t play on any other site. Those that criticise the site are probably competitors who are envy of Bidwiz’s success. I would highly recommend the site, but watch learn and I’m sure you’ll win. Bidwiz has my vote!

Bidwiz is not the 2nd most popular auction site in the UK at all, where did you get that idea from Robert? I have enjoyed playing at Bidwizz in the past but moved on to other sites after struggling to win anything (i’ll not mention which ones in case i’m accused of being a competitor of Bidwiz lol). TBH some of my favourite auction sites have actually closed down in the last few months which is a real shame. It seems that the best auction site forum comparepennyauctions.co.uk has closed down too which is a bit of a worry as it was a great place to chat to people about whether they had received any prizes won etc :(

I won a kindle on 14th Feb.2011 and I am still waiting for it. They say 14-30 days but I have just rung them up and they said 30 WORKING DAYS!! They said I shouldnt worry and I will get it eventually. Has anyone else won and not got their prize? It was the first time for me but after £40.00 worth of bids ( £20.00 were free for the first time) I am thinking it is a bit of a long shot as to whether you win or not. I think it was definitely beginners luck and couldnt believe it when I received an email saying I had won. I will believe it when I see it but would like to know if I am likely to receive my kindle. ANyone there?

Some came straight after the 30 working days, others a bit longer. So I can’t say anything bad about Bidwiz.I was just looking at your message jackiegear, and 30 working days is only up today (28th March). I would be more than interested to find out if you did receive your item. Please keep us informed.
Sarah, in a survey run by highest traffic on sites, Bidwiz did come 2nd in auction sites, so I guess Robert got his information from there.
As for those that bad mouth the site, I think its sour grapes. Losers always moan!
For me Bidwiz works and I love it.

I have used this, definitely idea is great no doubt about it, but bid quota is too high. I am new to these things but i know there are other options available. like madbid, flutteroo, Ready2Bid.com etc 1st two r penny auctions but ready2bid is also highest unique bid, good thing is their bid quota is vey low worth trying!! anyway liked them both would reccomend both.

SG and robert – I can’t find anywhere on the net that says bidwizz are the second most popular site, unless you can direct us to the place that claims this then i’m gonna have to presume that you are possibly part of bidwiz’s team (along with rob), sorry.

Terry, you’re quite simply a complete idiot who does’nt understand the concept of a highest ‘unique’ bid auction. If someone else has the bright idea of bidding the maximum bid price, as you quite clearly did, like a complete moron, then you aint gonna win son, cos it aint unique. Go and have a lye down.

I really can’t understand these people that just complain. Bidwiz has a good concept but so many people join and expect something for nothing without understanding what a unique bid is. If you don’t know what unique means, then use a dictionary!!!!! The site seems genuine and if you’re clever, you can grab a bargain. I

i think this should be outlawed as you can win the unique bid but if someone bids the same your bid is ununique so i lose after winning. this is a big con and i will never use them again.
also the auctions seem to be going on for well over 24hours for one item until they get well over the number of bids required to end the auction.
big big con
easy of use yes because they want your money
fairness no because they want you to think that you have a unique number at the beginning of the auction so you think that you are going to win
value for money definately no
overall a complete con

review by ansabo , September 30, 2011

Hi Muhammed,
It seems that the parkinsons has affected your brain – what difference does it make if Israel is mentioned or not? Are you racist, if so, what the hell are you doing here in a democratic country. You can practise whatever religion you want here and it’s very discriminating for you to say what you did. I’m Catholic, have you anything against us also! People like you are the ones that cause the problems in the world today. I’ve won on Bidwiz, and yes, it did take some time to get my win but I got it eventually.

review by Tracey , October 7, 2011

When I realised that I’d made a mistake by wasting my money on Bidwiz, I implored them for a refund minus what I had used and they refused twice with no mercy! I had not read the terms and conditions that I clicked on, as they say, but still they could have been lenient as it was my money afterall.

I wish I had read the reviews before I signed up – my fault for being stupid.

I have won numerous times on bidwizz. You can add the value into your account to continue bidding for something else, take the item or cash it in (for a seriously reduced amount). However there are some issues I have with it. To get the item takes forever. They use the excuse that the item is in high demand but as the high value ones are only put up for bidding infrequently this doesn’t make sense. Is it a big problem to have a couple of kindles in stock when they know it will be won by someone and they know they are going to make a serious amount of profit on them? I pestered them for ages until I received mine and ended up asking them if they were a genuine company. The other annoying bit is that your account gets blocked for 2 weeks if you win more than 3 items in 10 days. I wanted to bid on a new i phone but as I knew it would be popular and I would have to put alot of bids in, I bidded and won less popular items like the £50 bid wizz voucher and the Ikea voucher. When I thought I had enough to have a good chance of winning the i phone my account was blocked with the £250 that I had won. It seems they don’t like customers who suss out how to win.

Bidwiz is cheating website. I played there. If you win first second times, You can get it within 30 working days. If you win third or more times on this website, you can not get your prizes in your life time. they did me like this. I asked to them about my winning prizes. They told me you can get as soon as possible till now. I have not get my winning prizes more than 70 working days.

The game itself is enjoyable and the user interface easy to use. Unlike other sites there is a lot of information given On your bids in order to work a winning strategy. They not only show your position in the Auction but as you bid you are told if your are non-unique too high or non unique too low giving you the position of the nearest unique – this allows you to work out where the current wining bid is.

That’s the good part, the bad part is that they do no like winners. I’ve won 3 Products and paid for them and not received any wins. I’ve stopped playing the game and will not play again until I get my products.

Its a pity they do not like winners as this game, unlike many other auction games, actually needs skill to win. I don’t understand why they can’t deliver the products in less than 30 working days.

I’ll report back on the status of my products and if I receive them.

I’ve sent many emails to Bidwiz in order to resolve the lack of delivery of my items I won fairly. They completely blank me. This is very unprofessional of them.

They claim I cheated, hence do not have to send me my winnings. They can’t/won’t show me any evidence. This is because there is none!

They hold money of mine and have not returned this to me. Is this theft?

If only they had integrity I could recommend the site/game.

This service is a rip off, not recommended. Over charged me, then stated there is a subscription charge plus cost of bids and you oten not win anything and therefore no product. You are not guarented to get anything. I spent £28 then got charged another £59.99 subscription, won no product either. That is a lot of money wasted. I had complained about this and had an email back telling me to read T & C’s. Strangely enough, the T&C’s had just ben updated prior to sending me the info to cover themselves. If you wn a product, you buy at that price plus the subscription and bids. Can cost you far more than buying in shops. Totally avoid.

so PLEASE do not go to this web site as the customer service is pathetic, you do not recieve your goods and there is no such a thing as a refund,

They use Fraudulent Names, OR use Friends of theirs. To who they give Inside information So they know exactly What your unique bid is and bid the same to Make yours non -unique So They can win the Auction. If you are lucky enough to win an Action, It is because they have let you. I have gathered a lot of evidence of this and will be passing it to Trading Standards as this is Fraud. They are cheating the public out of thousands of pounds a week. They need to be shut down and Prosecuted. They have now moved on to Europe to cheat them, As most of their bidders now are from Spain and France. And they have no chance of getting their prizes.

It`s not life or death it`s a game and at the end of the game there is going to be a winner and a loser – seems we have most of the losers here.

I had a very long, long wait, a ridiculous amount of correspondence and a fair amount of aggravation. However, I did finally receive my MacBook and was delighted when it finally arrived.
If you are going to bid do be aware that you will have to do the chasing. I hope they can speed up their delivery services in
in the future.

I won a Samsung Sync Master a few weeks ago and I am still waiting for it to arrive. I am not even sure how to pay for it. I attached the 2 ID docs they ask for in the Pay Now section, and although I have money in the account, they have not yet taken it out to pay for the Samsung (£8.34) I have emailed them 3 times but have not received any replies.
Otherwise the auctions appear to be genuine enough.

review by L.P , January 1, 2013

I just want to warn people that this is a very easy trap to fall into.
I paid my £20 into the bid auction so to speak and was happy enough with that, when I didn’t win the auction I was fine with that end off, I put it down to I simply lost out.
Anyway to my horror that £59.99 was taken from my account so I cancelled my membership and account via e mail and they have cancelled, that’s not the worse part as if that isn’t embarrassing enough that I gave away £59.99. My whole banking has been blocked on me I now have to go through security screen with my banking because there is some sort of flag on this Site. So all because of Bidwiz I’m now going to be into late fee’s with direct debits and mortgages everything because the bank is closed on holiday today and by the time I get my bank back on track grrrrr late fee’s have accumulated. Happy New Year Bidwiz.
BE WARNED PEOPLE IT’S A FACT!

review by Gilllian Gallagher , January 6, 2013

This site is rubbish – how can anyone win. Cost me £59.99 cos I didn’t read the small print, asked for a refund but got refused.
Am going to Trading Standards to check this out

guys, guys I’ve just been on this notorious Bidiwz site, however I took my time to read and understand their terms and conditions and I’ve also phoned their customer services to clarify what I didn’t understand. Something that clearly 90% of you eggheads in here haven’t bothered to do, and “YES” there is a subscription, it’s clearly stated in their T&C, however it can be cancelled and you will not be charged if you comply with their T&C. I now continue participating on their site without the worries and stress you guys stated here and it is a fun site. My advice, those that wear glasses, get a stronger pair, those that thought they were cleaver, now you clearly know you’re not as clever as you thought. AND ALWAYS READ THE SMALL PRINT BEFORE PARTING WITH YOUR MONEY

Absolutely awful website and terrible customer service! I am extremely angered that I spent a initial £20! Then was charge £59.99 for a subscription I had no idea I had sighed up for! I feel completely conned! Have nothing to show for my well earned money! I will not be letting it go lightly! Will now inform authorities about this rip off site!

I didn’t sign up to bidwiz and its been signed up to in my name,to my disgust and horror £59.99 was taken from my bank in January and then another £59.99 has been taken in march.how can companies u know nothing about get away with this ridiculous scam and your bank not be able to do anything about it except to say cancel your cards to stop future payments being taken

review by pat , March 14, 2013

This site is a complete con. I have had £59.99 taken out of my account without my permission and have contacted my bank to cancel my cards.

review by CAROL , March 24, 2013

WHAT A SCAM. I WON AN AUCTION LAST DECEMBER AND DESPITE SEVERAL EMAILS PROMISING THEY WILL SORT IT OUT, I AM STILL WAITING FOR MY PRIZE 3 MONTHS LATER. HOWEVER, THEY TOOK MY MONEY IMMEDIATELY. BECAUSE OF THE WAY THEY RUN THEIR SITE, I ALSO REQUESTED A REFUND FROM MY BIDS BANK. THEY SAID THEY WOULD SEND ME MY PRIZE IF I CANCEL THE REFUND REQUEST. SURELY THIS IS ILLEGAL. WHO DO I CONTACT TO REPORT THEM OR TO SORT IT OUT?

WHAT A SCAM. As soon as you begin using the site, having put your credit card details in , they start to charge you £59.99 per month, just to be allowed to use this site. This is all written in the terms and conditions and it is too late when you realise that you will pay these BIDWIZ people a minimum of £150, even if you only use the site once. They have locked you in a watertight legal contrat. BE warned please do not go near these money grabbers.

review by Rob , May 2, 2013

I always read the reviews of any site I may be thinking of using and the t&c. As they say,If it looks
too good to be true, then it probably is. Bit of a con having to pay 60 quid a month just to be able to use the site, and in my opinion a rip off. Good luck to those who are having success on Bidwiz, but I know where my hard earned cash is staying.

If something looks too good to be true then it probably is. Stay well clear of this site, it is a scam run by some getrichquick boy in Israel passing off re-graded /re-furbished products as new to a few lucky ‘winners’. Trading standards have a list of complaints as long as your arm. Do you honestly expect to get a £400 ipad for £20? Get real. If you get stung, then don’t winge. Use your common sense & buy what you want from a legitimate source. It WILL work out cheaper in the end.

Hello every one,i think before we start complaining about any website,we should study case by case, since, sending merchandise from overseas,it can take ages, and i’m convinced that every one know it,more over,i my self got products within 90-120 days, and i’m happy with my wins..i do pay monthly, and i’ve got a email, asking me if i would like to ,and i did accept,so,before bitching about,i would suggest to double check,as bidwiz,is a great company..

review by Lee , October 17, 2013

There is negative star rating I will give to bidwiz.
I spend hundred pounds and not winning the bid. That’s fine as I cannot blame anyone if I not winning; However I didn’t know how they charge for the bid. But other than this, they charge me £59.99 monthly membership fees, and I ask them to close my account in september, but they still charge me £28 on 13.10.
They just like a robber. This company are rubbish, should not allow them to trick anymore victims.

review by anger , October 17, 2013

Bidwiz are cheat for money, rubbish company. Do not give your card details to them, they will get you money without your permission.

review by anger , October 17, 2013

robbery, this bidwiz should not allow to trading. need to stop them to grab other victims money.

review by ansabo321 , October 18, 2013

It’s really strange how all you complainers have NEVER bothered to read their Terms and Conditions. I am not a member but out of curiosity I went onto their site, read the T&Cs, and you don’t have to join to read them, and only then made the decision not to join. You can’t blame them if everyone joins without checking first.

This site is nothing but a scam! I thought I had paid £20 to have a go at what I thought might just be a bit of fun but later found out that they had also taken £60 from my account which was the start of a monthly subscription which they said I signed up for but which I was totally unaware of. They refused to refund this and so I made sure that I cancelled the card I used so they can’t take any further payments. Stay away from this site unless you’ve got money to burn! You don’t stand a chance of winning anyway.

AVOID BIDWIZ! If only I had read this before I got suckered by BidWiz for £150 thinking I was going to be able to get my Christmas presents. I immediately saw that it was impossible to find any items to bid on as they were all already bid to the maximum amount so I asked for a refund and after a wasted phonecall that dialled off after 45 minutes and 2 emails they sent a refund form which I sent back and BidWiz said they were processing and I had to wait 7-14 working days. Well Christmas passed and following illness I eventually thought I chase them up this week as there had been no refund. I emailed them and they have responded to my email and put £100 back into my Paypal which I do not accept as I want the full ammount refunded as I told them within 1 hour of opening the BidWiz account and well within the 7 day cooling off period. If anyone has the clout to make a case against BidWiz count me in please?

Yesterday 28/02/14,I was suprised to find out that my bank account had been debited for the amount of £59.99.I had no idea this site incurs a charge when it states registration is “FREE”.I was amazed at the fact that this is a re-occuring direct debit amount also. Not only do i feel robbed by this amount, but that i also paid a further £20.00 to bid on this site.Like E-Bay or any other site i have and do use,I have never had topay for the using them.Hve emailed to request a refund, but doubt that this will be forthcoming after reading reviews of this site on here..Bidders and those thinking of using this site,i strongly recommend that “YOU DONT BOTHER& LOOK TO ANOTHER MORE HONEST AND TRANSIENT COMPANY/SITE”.

I signed up the other day and have “won” what appears to be a very average MP3 player that I can buy for pennies in any shop, for my sins I have purchased £40 in bids that I Know I won’t use. the free bids left, right and centre added to the confusion! Having read the above I’m prepared to write off the money, I certainly am not prepared to give very personal details to this company, so they can keep the winning bid. For the record I’ve contacted my bank and Bidwiz within the cooling off period and I hope that this will be the last I hear of it, if not I’ll be back here and will let people know what’s going on. Finally, I didn’t enter this site in the name of greed, it was as a calculated risk and a bit of fun. I hope that’s the end of this matter!
